The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Engr. Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the newly elected Governor of Nasarawa state.
Announcing the results of last Saturday’s governorship election at 12:52am on Monday, the state’s INEC Collation Officer and Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Minna, Professor Abdullahi Bala said Engineer Abdullahi Sule scored 327,229 votes to defeat 28 other candidates who took part in the poll.
According to the INEC official, Sule defeated the candidate of PDP, a 41-year-old House of Representatives member, David Umbugadu who polled 184,281 votes to come second.
Also, the APGA candidate, who is also a former Minister of Communication, Mr. Labaran Maku, came third after polling 132,780 votes.
Daily Trust reports that all political parties’ agents signed the result sheet at the Nasarawa INEC head office.
