Kwankwaso loses own LG Madobi to APC

Former Kano state governor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has lost his own local government, Madobi to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

Announcing the result, the governorship election’s Collation Officer, Dr Shehu Usman Yahaya, declared that All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 24,491 votes, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 24,309 and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) scored 425 votes.

Dr Yahaya said total registered voters in the local government were 84,280; accredited votes 50,251; valid votes 49,424; rejected votes 588 and total votes cast 50,012.

Turning to the state assembly poll, Dr Yahaya said APC polled 24,499 votes and PDP got 23,620 votes respectively.

Also in Rano and Dambatta local governments, the ruling APC defeated the leading opposition party.

In Rano APC polled 16,694 votes in gubernatorial election, PDP 14,892 votes and PRP 1,401 votes.

For the state assembly APC got 18,397, PDP 13,827, and PRP got 626 votes.

In Dambatta local government, APC scored 24,686 votes for the gubernatorial poll; PDP scored 13,696 votes and PRP 2,793 votes.

For the state assembly election, APC got 24,750 votes, PDP 18,043 and PRP polled 2,843 votes.
