Former Kano governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has lost his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the March 9 governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
Shekarau, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC was elected as the lawmaker to represent Kano central senatorial district during the February 23 general election.
He lost to PDP at his PU 022 Giginyu ward in Nassarawa local government area of the state.

In the governorship election, his party, APC got 91 votes, PDP got 143 and PRP got 13 .
Similarly, in the State House of Assembly election, APC got 97, PDP got 126 while PRP got 15
