JUST IN: Thugs set ablaze INEC registration centre in Ebonyi

Suspected political thugs early Saturday morning attacked staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ezza North local government area of Ebonyi state.

The attack took place at Okposi Umuoghara Community Secondary School at about 2:15am.

The thugs took away some sensitive materials and set ablaze the building.

The school serves as registration centre (RAC) for INEC in the state.

When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Loveth Odah, confirmed the development.

Meanwhile, voting has started in some polling units visited by our reporter in the state capital, Abakaliki, this morning.
