The National president of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba has commissioned the ultra modern Labour House in Calabar.
The complex is estimated to cost, at least, N80 million Naira.
The construction of the complex commenced during the regime of the former governor, Senator Liyel Imoke.
The NLC president, who spoke through Comrade Ofueonyeadi Innocent, commended the state governor Prof Ben Ayade for his immense supports which facilitated the completion of the project.
Also speaking, the state chairman of NLC, Comrade John Ushie said the governor had donated N50 million to further the construction.
He described Ayade as a the people’s governor who had sustained the payment of salaries and pension of workers while also attending to the industrial and infrastructural needs of the state.
Ushie said the new labour House represents the strength of Cross River workers.
He said the Labour House will now house all departments of the union, ease administration and serve as the desired meeting and relaxation point.
