ACPN to Deltans: Reject Okowa, PDP cabals in March 9 elections

Mr Paul Isamade, Delta governorship candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) has called on the electorate to reject incumbent Gov. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa at the poll on Saturday.

He made the call in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, describing Okowa who is also the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and others as “cabals holding the state to ransom.”

He, therefore urged the people of the state to come out massively to vote for him in the governorship election, saying he is the best candidate for the state at the moment.

He said it is a shame that in spite of huge oil revenue that accrued to the state in the last 20 years, it still lacked necessary infrastructure.

“All right thinking and lover of our dear Delta state must reject the people that want to perpetually put us in this mess.

“Delta state is not working after 20 year of democracy. If you look around us, our neighbours who do not receive up to 5 per cent of our revenue have better infrastructure, better road network, and better schools among others.

“It is a shame that in spite of our huge oil revenue for 20 years running we still lacked all of these.

“I urge you all to vote massively for the ACPN, so that collectively we will reclaim the state for the benefit of all and not for any group or the unprogressive cabals,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Isamade has earlier denied reports in some quarters that he endorsed the re-election of Okowa.

He maintained that he remains committed to winning the state governorship election, urging the electorate to disregard the report.(NAN)
