The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate for Cross River State House of Assembly, Francis Bassey Asuquo, has been sued before the High Court in Calabar over alleged false age declaration and non-possession of the University of Calabar degree as claimed.

A candidate of the All Blending Party (ABP) for the Assembly election in Odukpani local government area, Bar Victor Edim Udobong in a suit no HC/14/2019, alleged that information pertaining to Francis Bassey Asuquo’s secondary school certificate no 18177/020 of 1993 supplied in the form CF 001 to INEC was false as that was not bearing his name.

He also alleged that information about his date of birth was false as the birth certificate submitted to INEC was not bearing his name while information about his tertiary education was also false since he does not have certificate of the University of Calabar, 2006 as claimed.

In a seven point affidavit sworn to by Bar Udobong, he wrote, “That I have reasonable grounds to believe that some information and documents submitted to the 3rd defendant (INEC) were false.

“The information supplied in the form CF 001 submitted to INEC by the defendant pertaining to his secondary school certificate no 18177/020 of 1993 was false.

“On his birth certificate, the certificate was not bearing his name and pertaining to his tertiary institution, the certificate was false, having no certificate of University of Calabar in 2006 attached”.

Both INEC and PDP were conjoined in the said suit as second and third respondents respectively.
