How PDP won Cross River for Atiku, 3 Senators

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, winner of last Saturday’s presidential election in Cross River state.

Atiku polled a total of 295,737 votes in the just concluded presidential election in Cross River State, according to the state’s INEC Returning Officer. President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) got 177,303 votes.

Similarly, the three Senators who contested on the platform of the PDP for the senatorial election beat their APC opponents.

They are Rose Oko, Senator-elect for Cross River North; Dr Sandy Onor for Cross River Central and Gershom Bassey for Cross River South. Only Dr. Sandy will be first timer in the Red chamber.

They won as follows: Dr. Sandy of PDP got 80,126 votes while APC’s Ndoma-Egba got 60,298 votes.

Rose scored 100,967 votes while her closest rival, Wabily Nyiam of APC got a total of 36,129 votes.

Gershom Bassey of the PDP polled 158, 862 votes to defeat his closest rival, Prince Otu of the APC who  got 142,166 votes.
