The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the last Saturday’s presidential elections, conducted in Nasarawa State.
The Collation officer in the state and Academic Provost, Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Prof. Azubuike Sunny Nwakwo announced the results Monday at the National collation centre, Abuja.
According to him, the APC won the elections with 289, 903 votes to defeat the PDP which garnered 283, 847 votes.
He said that there were 613,720 accredited voters of the 1,509,481 total registered voters.
While saying that the total votes cast across the 13 local governments were 599,399, he said 580,778 were the total valid and the rejected votes were 18, 621.
He added that the cancelled votes were 157,591.
Some party leaders have however, raised concerns over the high proportion of the cancelled votes, especially that the difference between the APC wining and PDP coming second were 6,056.
