The candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, has been declared winner of the Saturday’s presidential election in Yobe state.
The state’s Presidential Collation Officer, Professor Abubakar Gunduri, who is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Wukari, announced that after collation of results from the 17 local government areas of Yobe state.
Announcing the results on Monday, Gunduri said Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, had scored a total of 497,914 votes against his opponent of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar that polled 50,763.
The collation officer said the state has a total of 1,365,913 registered voters out of which 601,059 were accredited for the election.
He also announced that the exercise has recorded the total of 559,365 as valid votes, 26,772 rejected and 4,407 were cancelled due smart card readers’ issues in Fune, Nangere and Yusufari local government areas.
