‘Atiku would have been jailed if corrupt’

The South East Publicity Secretary of PDP, Pope Ekwegh, has said that the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, would have been jailed if he had any corruption case.

Ekwegh, who spoke with our correspondent in   Owerri yesterday, noted that if Atiku was corrupt, the President Muhammadu Buhari government would have indicted him.

“Of course, we have a good candidate but they will tell you he is a thief. But I want to tell you, Buhari won’t let a thief challenge him. If Atiku was a thief, he would have been gagged.  And there are no two ways telling you about what President Buhari and his administration can do.

“They even gagged those that are innocent, how much more somebody that is a thief and is equally challenging them in this election.” he added.
