The Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace (IDFP) has urged the Federal Government to work assiduously for the release of Leah Sharibu from the Boko Haram captivity.
Leah, who was kidnapped a year ago alongside some female students of Dapchi Girls Secondary School in Yobe State, is still being held, while others were rescued.
Responding to a question concerning the continued detention of Leah Sharibu during a press conference, the co-chairmen of the IDFP, Bishop Sunday Onuoha and Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni said, in Abuja, they will continue to appeal for the release of the teenager.
Alhaji Sanni was represented by a co-secretary of the forum, Mallam Ibrahim Yahaya.
“We believe that government is doing their best to make sure that she is returned,” Onuoha said of Leah Sharibu, while referring to previous comment by the minister of information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
“The case of Leah is very dear to us. We pray for her release and we believe she will be release. The Minister of Information said government is doing something and we will continue to hold government accountable until the right thing is done,” he said.
