INEC dispatches sensitive materials to local councils in Ogun

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ogun state, Prof Abdulganiyu Raji, on Friday disclosed that all sensitive election materials have been dispatched to the Local Government Area of the state ahead of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly polls.

Raji also hinted that as at Monday when collection of Permanent Voters Card was suspended, only 631,634 voters are yet to collect their PVCs.

The REC, while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta on Friday on the commission’s preparedness, said all was set for the conduct of the election.

He said “As far as we are concern in INEC, we are no more talking of preparation, we are taking of election. We are talking of how far we have gone because election already started. Sensitive materials have already been dispatched to all the local governments in the state.

“In our LGs, we expect that by 6 pm, all our ad-hoc staff would be at the registration centres where they will stay overnight.

“For us, election has started, we are fully prepared, and we have done all the necessary things we suppose to do.”
