FG launches campaign in support of military

The federal government has launched a national campaign in support of the Nigerian military.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said yesterday in Abuja the campaign was necessary to boost their moral in the fight against the insurgency.

He said Nigerian military deserve the support and prayers of all Nigerians and not vilification, insults and other acts that are capable of dampening their morale.

The minister also worried that those who do not understand the fresh threat facing the nation, nor appreciate the sacrifice of the troops, have now made it their past-time to wage a campaign of disinformation against the military, especially in the social media.

He noted that doctored videos and pictures purporting to show massive military casualties are willfully circulated online and such unpatriotic acts are discouraging and demoralizing the troops and must stop forthwith.
