Daily Trust learnt that the helicopter crash landed at about 1.30 pm while trying to make a landing at the Kabba Stadium.

The Vice President was billed to hold a town hall meeting with traditional rulers as well as other party supporters in Kabba, Okene and Idah in continuation of the APC presidential campaign ahead of the forthcoming election.

According to an eye witness account, the vice president’s helicopter managed to land at the township stadium before the propeller of the helicopter suddenly pulled off and was flying in the sky to amazement of party faithful who had gathered to welcome him.

Immediately after the incident, the vice president was evacuated from the scene into a waiting vehicle and was thereafter driven in convoy to the palace of the Obaro of Kabba where he paid a courtesy call.

He later addressed some party supporters at St Augustine’s College, Kabba.

Osibanjo was billed to launch the trader-moni in Kabba and was equally expected to visit Okene in central axis of the state and Idah in the Eastern axis before he returns to Abuja.

Confirming the incident, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande in a statement, said Osinbajo and the entire occupants of the chopper were all fine after the incident.

“Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has arrived Kabba, Kogi State today (yesterday). His Chopper had crash landed after a landing incident, but everyone is safe.

“Prof. Osinbajo is now in Kabba after the incident and continuing his engagements in the State, engaging the people on the Next Level plan of the Buhari administration,” Akande said
