Arsenal have confirmed the loan signing of Barcelona star Denis Suarez.
Paperwork on his temporary switch — with an option to make the deal permanent this summer — was completed this morning following a medical, with Arsenal agreeing a loan fee in the region of £2.1million.
Arsenal will pay the entirety of Suarez’s wages for the duration of the loan and have negotiated a fee in the region of £20m should they wish to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Unai Emery, who reunited with a player who he worked with at Sevilla four seasons ago, said: “We are very happy that Denis Suarez is joining us.
“He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla.
“He brings us quality and options in many different attacking positions, so he’ll be able to help the team.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal face a race against the clock to complete the loan signing of Yannick Carrasco before Thursday’s 11pm deadline
