President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday said his administration has made progress in the area of security, particularly in the fight against Boko Haram.
He said this in Osogbo, Osun state during his campaign at the Osogbo City Stadium to seek supports of the people of the state for his re-election in the February 16 presidential election.
Buhari said his government performed well in the area of economy, agriculture, security and the anti-corruption war. He promised to do more if elected again.
According to him, “I’m here to thank you very much for trooping out to welcome us. We have made progress in security matters. Boko Haram is not in control of any local government now. All they could do now is attacking soft targets.
“We are lucky on economy. We are doing our best in the fighting against corruption. I assure you that whoever that misappropriate public funds would be prosecuted.”
Also speaking at the rally, Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola said Osun has been benefiting from Buhari’s government and urged Osun people to vote for Buhari so to continue enjoying the benefits particularly in the area of infrastructure.
The APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinibu, said for recognising June 12 election and Chief Moshood Abiola as the winner of that election, Osun people should vote for Buhari.
Also, the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole said Nigerians will vote for Buhari and that the President will win the election.
He said Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar were jittery over the popularity of Buhari and APC. He urged Osun people to vote for APC from top to bottom.
