The Coalition of Dutsin-ma and Kurfi Civil Society Organizations in collaboration with a community based organisation have held an interactive session with candidates seeking to represent the Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The session was aimed at enabling representatives of the various communities present their needs to guide constituency interventions of any of the candidates who emerges as the winner in the forthcoming elections.
Those who attended the session were Nura B. Amadi of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abdullahi Ghali, United Peoples Congress and Aliyu Nadada of the Peoples Trust.
The candidate of the All progressive Congress (APC) Armaya’u Abdulkadir, however, failed to appear at the event.
The organisers said he was duly invited to the occasion in addition to a follow up discussion held with him on the importance of the programme.
He could not, however, be reached by our reporter as at press time to confirm the organisers allegation.
Arewa Trust reports that representatives from the 21 wards of the constituency presented problems affecting the constituency and called on the candidates to imbibe the culture of having regular engagement with the constituents when elected.
Malam Abdulrahman Abdullahi, Chairman Katsina Budget Awareness Initiatives, one of the organisers of the event, said the event was also aimed at ensuring and holding candidates in trust after winning the election.
A cross-section of electorate, who spoke at the interactive session, called for a vibrant representation of the constituency, securing of developmental projects, engaging constituents during budget processes to capture their real needs as well as coming up with stringent laws on insecurity and kidnapping that are adversely affecting the area.
