In his remarks at the prayer session, the Governor of Nasarawa State Umaru Al-Makura said, “The 44 year old reign of late Emir of Lafia, Dr Isa Mustapha Agwai I is “the golden era in the history of Lafia Emirate. The revered late emir was the true progenitor and cornerstone of modern Lafia Emirate. Under the emir’s royal stewardship, Lafia witnessed its most astounding developments.”
In his condolence, a close associate of the Emir since childhood, Isyaku Ibrahim said, “The late Emir of Lafia was indeed a man of honour, charisma and a symbol of a nationalist who protected the Igbos during the civil wars, enhanced dialogue and shunned violence throughout his reign as an Emir, and a big brother to me.”
