A serving councillor of Garin Maje in Charanchi local government area of Katsina state, Amina Bello Maje, has been kidnapped last midnight.
Sources say the kidnappers stormed their residence at about 1.30 am and fired shots before whisking her and her mother, one Hajiya Hauwa, away.
After abducting the duo, the kidnappers on their way abandoned the mother and went away with the daughter.
Our reporter gathered that one of the shot narrowly missed her father, a former member of state of Assembly, Bello Maje.
“Till now her whereabouts is uncertain and her abductors are yet to reach out,” a reliable source said.
The police are yet to respond to enquiry made on the issue.
It will be recalled that in October last year, two serving councillors of Safana local government namely, Hussaini Wanzam (Finance) and Bishir Dan Jikko (Water and Sanitation) were also abducted by their captives on their way to Batsari town after close of work. The captives later demanded a N50million ransom on them.
The councillors were later released after spending 26 days in captivity, as sources confided that about N4million was paid for their release.
