The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has inaugurated another batch of a youth economic empowerment scheme targeted at APC supporters in the state.
The scheme is expected to assist the youths in acquiring employable skills in fashion design, leather works, hair dressing, computer operations and repair, weaving, catering services, among others.
The governor said the scheme, tagged: “Simon Lalong Empowerment Scheme (SLEMS), was dear to him because of its ability to banish poverty among the youths.
In his address, the Director General, Plateau State Micro Finance, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (PLASMEDA), Haggai Gutap, said the third phase of the scheme identified APC youths for a special package aimed at giving them a brighter future.
