The remains of former President Shehu Shagari has arrived Sultan Abubakar III International Airport Sokoto aboard flight 5N-FGZ at about 12:55pm.
Sokoto Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was among those who received the body of the late President.
The body was taken into a waiting Airforce Ambulance with registration number AF 261 B01.

A host of his family members also arrived Sokoto from Abuja.
Other dignitaries who were present at the airport included a former Governor of Sokoto state Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, top state government officials, some traditional leaders, and prominent politicians, among others.
