Niger State government has secured the support of the World Bank to rehabilitate 88.6 kilometre roads at the cost of N500million.
The funding, which is a tripartite arrangement between the World Bank, state and Lavun local government, is for the completion of the 56.6 kilometre Kutigi-Tesan Hajia and 33 kilometre Dabban roads.
Chairman of Lavun Local Government Area, Alhaji Yakubu Isah Kashikoko who disclosed this to newsmen in Kutigi yesterday, said the roads have been abandoned for close to 50 years.
He said people of the area have been suffering for the last 50 years until the coming of the current administration, which has pledged to fix it as part of its campaign promises.
