Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has approved the appointment of an Information Technology (IT) expert, Mr. Daser David, as the Director General (DG) of the Plateau State Information Technology Agency (PSITA).
Prior to this appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of nHub, one of the pioneer ICT companies in Jos.
According to a statement signed by the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Richard D. Tokma, the appointment is with immediate effect.
The State’s House of Assembly recently passed the law establishing the PSITA to give the state a standard technology development agency that will unleash technology potentials in it.
The law paved the way for the appointment of a young, competent David as the head.
Though a graduate of Biochemistry from the University of Jos, Daser has had a vertical career change to become a software engineer to pursue his passion in IT leading to his establishment of the first innovation hub in northern Nigeria, nHub.
With nHub, David has been able to build both a tech solution company and a skill acquisition space for thousands of young people veering into tech entrepreneurship.
David has consulted on IT for the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Air Force including a number of public and private sector players.
He is a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on Technology & Creativity chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
