Buhari failed to deliver his mandate – Atiku

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to deliver the mandate given to him by Nigerians.

Atiku made the declaration on Tuesday in Gombe while addressing party members and supporters at a rally to launch his presidential campaign in the North-East geo-political zone.

He said the APC under President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to provide a purposeful leadership, secure the country and revive the economy to provide jobs to numerous youth roaming the streets.

Atiku promised that when elected, he will tackle security challenges in the country, particularly Boko Haram, kidnapping and banditry.

He called on electorates from Gombe and other five states of the zone to massively vote for him on February 16 as president to enable him implement people-oriented programmes and rescue the country.

In a remark, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said the 2019 elections is between the APC government and millions of Nigerians who live in abject poverty and cannot get three square meals daily.

“The 2019 election is a referendum on insecurity and mismanagement of the economy by the Buhari led administration. Therefore, the election is between the APC government and over 85 million Nigerians who were put into poverty by the APC,” he said.

Dogara called on the electorates to vote for PDP and Atiku to save the country from collapsing.

In his address, the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, urged their supporters not to allow police and INEC officials to rig the election in favour of the ruling APC.

He said the PDP is on a mission to rescue Nigerians from bad governance of the APC-led administration.

Secondus later presented flag of the party to the six governorship candidates of the PDP from the north-east.
