The remaining four staff of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, who were kidnapped recently have been rescued by police.
The Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Police Command, Folashade Odoro confimed this to Daily Trust correspondent on Friday.
The police spokesperson said the college staff have been reunited with their families and that policemen are still on the trail of the kidnappers.
About 10 staff of the college were kidnapped by some gunmen believed to be Fulani Bororo herdsmen. One of the college staff was shot dead and four were first rescued by police in an operation led by the commissioner of police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye.
One of the policemen was shot by the kidnappers during the gun duel. The injured policeman is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
According to the PPRO, “the remaining victims have been released and reunited with their families efforts is being intensified to get the hoodlums apprehended”.
