Man jailed 2 years for reckless driving

Magistrate Court No 21 sitting at No-man’s Land Kano, has sentenced 32-yr-old Adamu Ismaila to 2-year imprisonment over reckless driving.

The accused was charge for one count charge of driving without due cure and attention contrary to section 29 of Penal Code Law.

The court learnt that the case was reported to the police by one Lucky Gokir who is attached to Fagge police division.

The prosecutor Inspector Iliyasu Muhammad told the court that there was accident along IBB way by Abattoir which was caused due to driving without due cure and attention by the accused who was driving a Volvo tanker.

When the charge sheet was read to the accused he pleaded not guilty to the crime he was accused of.

The presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Halima Aliyu Nasiru found the accused guilty of the offence and sentenced him to 2-year imprisonment or pays a fine of 1 million and eighty five thousand and seventy naira.
