Brig.-Gen. Nasiru Jega, has assumed duty as the Commander of 2 Brigade Nigeria Army, Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Jega took over from Brig.-Gen.Abdu Hassan who had been redeployed to the Army Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre Jaji, Kaduna State, as Chief of Staff.
Lt Tayo Oluwafemi, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 2 Brigade, disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Uyo on Thursday.
“A new Commander has assumed the command of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Uyo. He is Brigadier General Nasiru Jega. He hails from Gwandu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
“He was enlisted into the Nigerian Defence Academy on Sept. 21, 1986 as a member of 38 Regular Course.
“He has held several appointments cutting across command, staff as well as instructional levels.
“Until his posting to 2 Brigade, he was a Participant at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Lagos,” Oluwafemi said.
Brig.-Gen. Nasiru Jega is the 3rd Commander of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army since it was moved to Uyo in 2016.
