Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has commissioned the Sokoto State International Conference Centre which was constructed at the cost of N705 million by the state government.
Obasanjo commended Governor Tambuwal for putting the edifice despite competing demands and requirements for government’s fund.
“There are many part of the world that conference tourism is a major source of revenue; no wonder why Sokoto should be part of them because it has a long history that nobody can dispute,” he said
In his remarks, Tambuwal said the centre was awarded by the immediate past government but that it was his government that funded it from foundation to the completion level.
He explained that the hall would boost the state’s revenue generation.
