Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state has approved the sum of N7.2 billion to complete all the ongoing projects that would have direct impact on the lives of ordinary citizens in the state.
This was disclosed to newsmen by the state Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Mohammed Lamin, shortly after the state executive council meeting presided over by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Abubakar D Ali, in Damaturu on Wednesday.
Lamin said the sum of N4,287,600,231.40 was approved at the meeting as additional funds for the construction of Cargo Airport, while the sum of N234,910,500 was also approved for complete reconstruction of Town Distribution Network (TDN) and subsequent connection of Gujba, Buni and Buni Gari to the national grid.
He said that N185,157,000.00 was also approved for the furnishing and purchase of equipment at the newly constructed 3 units of Bedroom bungalows at the Government House, while N134,391,345.39 was approved for the completion of renovation and civil works at the General Hospital, Potiskum.
Other projects approvals at the meeting was the sum of N1,405,397,822.60 and N994,746,000 for the construction of various road projects across the state and payment of students’ tuition fee at Nigerian Tulip International Colleges respectively.
