Alhaji Ladan Baba, the Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kano state, has appealed to the state government to rehabilitate the five kilometre feeder road leading to the orientation camp from Kusalla Junction

He made the call on Monday during the swearing in of the Batch ‘C’ stream II corps members at the NYSC orrientation camp, Kusalla in Karaye Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the road is in bad condition causing difficulties to corps members, communities around the area and NYSC officials going to the orientation camp.

He, therefore, called on the state government to rehabilitate the road as earlier promised by Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje.

The Coordinator further appealed to the state government to complete the general renovation of the camp and two motorised solar boreholes.

“I also wish to remind the state government on its earlier promise to release an 18-seater bus it promised, and the payment of State allowance to corps members as earlier approved”, he said.

He commended the Federal Government for awarding the filling of potholes along Kano-Gwarzo-Dayi road, which he said is the major road to Karaye where the camp is located

Baba said no fewer than 1, 669 corps members, comprising 813 males and 856 females were registered at the end of the registration on Thursday.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Mukhtar Ibrahim who represented the Governor reiterated the commitment of the state government toward empowering women and youths.

He noted with satisfaction the contributions of corps members for the actualisation of government programmes in the state, especially through various Community Development Service projects in rural communities.

“I charge each and every one of you to join hands in the efforts to propagage the message of unity, Peace, love and development to the grassroots”, he said.
