The ZOC explained that the yearly ember months operations of FRSC was aimed at preventing crashes and traffic gridlock in view of the increase in vehicular traffic on the roads.

“FRSC Regular and Special Marshals will be deployed to arrest vehicles who contravene traffic rules and regulations.

“It has become a tradition in FRSC to intensify patrol operations and public enlightenment as the year draws to an end. FRSC will be strict in enforcing route violation along the Lagos – Ibadan and Sagamu – Ijebu Ode – Ore expressways,” he said.

He also insisted that any motorist found disobeying traffic rules and regulations especially during this period would be dealt with.

In his remarks, Ogun FRSC Sector Commander,   Clement Oladele, said the command had deployed over 1,500 personnel to all the highways in the state in order to ensure safety during the season.

Oladele noted that half of the road traffic crashes in the year occurred at road construction zones, saying motorist should exercise patience at road construction sites.

In his goodwill message, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, urged the command to continue to sensitise motorists especially during the ember months when there would be increase in movement.
