The Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS) of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has received a new secretary to manage the secretariat.
Dr. Adamu Bappah took over from Dr. Aminu Maigari on Thursday in Abuja, where he promised that he would continue from where Mai stopped, adding that he was going to be thorough and he would not take his duties lightly.
Bappah promised to keep up with the legacy he met in the HHSS and urged the HODs also known as the management staff to also cooperate with him in making the best out of the secretariat.
“I want you to work well. I do not like late coming and laxity at all.
“I believe that in the next few days we will get to know ourselves and work better. You are the management staff; you will direct and supervise the younger ones
“It is indeed a pleasure and a great honour to come and serve the FCTA, HHSS. I have known a lot of agencies. I have worked with so many Doctors and nurses in the past.
“I wish to assure you that there is no way one can succeed without getting the cooperation of each and everyone of you, so let’s put in our best in all we do,” he said.
Dr Aminu Mai, former acting secretary, who was in charge of activities of the secretariat barely one month ago, said that it was impactful and rewarding working with heads of department of the HHSS.
Mai, who is also the substantive General Manager of the Hospitals Management Board (HMB), noted that during the interval of his duties, he held a briefing with the Head of Department (HODs) on how to carry out their duties.
He described the HODs as being supportive and a fantastic team to work with at any given time, adding that one can count on that.
“I want to assure you that we have a fantastic team here. We have gotten enough support from them within the time that I have been here.
“I am sure you will get more support from them. You can count on that. (NAN)
