The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has notified the national leadership of the PDP of its decision to publish the list of candidates submitted by the Adebayo Dayo-led state executive committee in Ogun State for the 2019 general elections.

The Dayo-led PDP, which had the backing of the senator representing Ogun East, Buruji Kashamu, had been at loggerheads with the Sikirullahi Ogundele exco over the structure of the party in the state.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP recognized the Ogundele-led state excos. The two groups had held parallel primaries and produced candidates for each positions, a development which threw up the question of which list to be accepted by the electoral umpire.

However, INEC in a letter  with reference number  INEC/LEG/DR/197/I/514, dated October 25, 2018 addressed to the national chairman of the party, Chief  Uche Secondus, said it had accepted the list submitted by Kashamu’s group, saying it was in compliance with two judgements of the Federal High Court.
