Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has commiserated with the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, the people of Edo State and the entire Anenih family over the death of the former Minister of Works, Chief Tony Anenih.
Lalong described Anenih, as one who impacted so much on the Nigerian political scene, all of which combined to earn him the nickname, ‘Mr Fix It,’ adding that his death has robbed the country of a nationalist and consummate political strategist.
Lalong’s condolence message which was contained in a statement issued in Jos on Monday, by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mark Longyen, and made available to newsmen stated that, “the death of Chief Anenih has indeed robbed Nigeria of a nationalist, consummate political strategist and patriot, and created a vacuum which will be difficult to fill in a long time.”
He said the deceased had lived a fulfilled life, died at the ripe age of 85 adding that,”while it is very sad to lose this courageous nationalist at this moment of our nation’s history, we as believers must however take solace in the fact that death is inevitable for all mortals,” the statement added.
