Military releases another 28 child soldiers to UNICEF, Borno government

The Theater Commander of Operation Lafiya Maj. Gen. Abba Dikko has handed 28 children associated with Armed groups to United Nations and the Borno state government.

Dikko, while handing over the children on Thursday at military Control Centre in Maiduguri, said they have been investigated and cleared by joint teams of Operations Lafiya Dole.

Maj. Gen. Dikko urged the people of the northeast to resist handful of people who unleashed Terror on them.

The 28 children released comprises of 24 boys and 4 girls.

Chief of UNICEF Nigeria, Borno Field Office, Geoffrey Ijumba priased the military for the milestone achievement adding that it is all about the children’s future.
