The Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Nigeria, Jafar Jafar has agreed to appear before a Kano State House of Assembly investigative committee tomorrow (Thursday)
The seven-man investigative committee set up by the Assembly to find out the authenticity of a video clip portraying Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje collecting bribe from an unidentified contractor will also commence sitting tomorrow.
Confirming the development to Daily Trust on Wednesday, a member of the committee, said Jafar had communicated to the committee in writing that he would personally attend the sitting.
“After the invitation was extended to him, Jafar has replied the committee in writing that he will appear before the committee on Thursday as requested by the committee.
“Equally, Jafar has also accepted the invitation extended to his online medium, Daily Nigeria. So, both Jafar and Daily Nigeria are expected to appear before the committee tomorrow,” said the source.
Daily Trust gathered that only Jafar and Daily Nigeria will appear before committee.
According to the source, the sitting would commence at 11:00am.
