Pan-African digital TV service provider, Multichoice, has kicked off the “I am” campaign for its DStv brand with three Nollywood celebrities.

The campaign, according to the firm, is part of its tradition of delivering local stories using the most talented performers.

Speaking at the launch in Lagos on Monday, Doyle said the “DStv ‘I am’ campaign helps to visualize concepts and makes you think anything and become anything.”

“Multichoice is a business company that has created platform where people can express themselves; and by doing so, they have created jobs for thousands of talented people. They are one of the major reasons why the monopoly of Nollywood is broken, they do not care who you are, where you come from; all they what to know is: Do you have talent? And if you are capable of delivering on the job”, she said.

Doyle noted that DStv has made remarkable progress when it comes to telling authentic Nigerian stories.

“Things have improved a lot; everybody is trying to have a Nigerian story including practitioners and consumers. There are many definitions of Nigerian narratives, people want to stand on their perspectives and that is fine but we are very cosmopolitan and there is no situation happening elsewhere in the world that you wouldn’t find here in Nigeria regardless of social status. So, I think we are doing a better job on our story, and is the need for improvement? Yes, all the time,” Doyle added.

Also commenting, Ejiofor said DStv has a created a platform where musicians and others who are in the creative industry can optimize to become notable figures.

The veteran actress said DStv is doing a fantastic job by bringing movies to limelight and making sure people run home to watch the movies and have conversations on what is going on the television set.

“I believe that television programmes can connect and bring us closer as a people. For instance, you would see families running home to watch the “Checkmate” or “Things fall apart” or “Fuji House of Commotion” on Sundays so as not miss out. People can also relate to the characters in the movies and shows and say yes, this happened to a best friend of mine, this happened to me or my father”, Ejiofor added.
