The running mate to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential flagbearer in the 2019 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, on Monday met with the Ebonyi state governor, Engr. David Umahi in Abakaliki, the state capital.
He made this known in Abakaliki Presidential lodge, where he met with the state governor, Engr. Umahi and stakeholders of party.
The meeting which lasted few hours just ended some moments ago.
Obi said the leaders and governors of southeast zone never disagreed over his nomination as the running mate to Atiku saying what was at stake was the process through which he emerged.
Obi said he also came to solicit the support of the Ebonyi governor towards the coming election.
He also commended the governor for his developmental strides since he assumed office.
“Umahi is our leader, he is a man of impeccable character, he was at the centre of the storm but I want to tell the people that Umahi and Igbo leaders were misrepresented badly.
“Igbo leaders never disagreed with my nomination as VP candidate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar but disagreed with the process but I am here to solicit for your support”
Mr. Obi however blamed the escalating error to social media adding that the leadership of the zone have remained at their best.
