The Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission, (NHRC) Anthony Ojukwu, has called on community members in Plateau State and the military to synergise for effective understanding to halt the spate of crises in the state.
The Executive Secretary made the call during his visit to military formations, flash points, police command and the Government House in the state.
He said community-military collaboration is often very effective in crisis resolution and security improvement.
Ojukwu said it was imperative that innocent people do not suffer during security operations to halt crises but that there was need for the actual culprits to be brought to justice. Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, who received the commission in the Government House, assured that lasting peace would soon return to the state.
