Pest invasion: Kebbi deploy helicopters to spray rice farms

Kebbi State Government has deployed helicopters for aerial spray of rice farms invaded by grasshoppers and other pests at Ambursa, Birnin Kebbi and other affected local government areas of the state.

While inspecting affected farms on Sunday Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu assured farmers in the state on the safety of their rice and other crops.

The governor said he has directed that immediate measures be taken to destroy the pests before they do further damage to the rice farms in the affected communities.

He said the federal government would intervene to assist the state to maintain its rice and other crops production capacity.
