21-year-old abducted girl rescued in Jos

A 21-year-old girl kidnapped by unknown gunmen around Conan Soja in Jos north local government has been rescued, Plateau State Police Commissioner, Austine Agbonlahor, disclosed on Friday.

The girl had been abducted from her home by men in a red Gulf vehicle last Tuesday (October 9) around 7:50pm and the incident had been reported at the Laranto Police Station in Jos by one Alhaji Idris Gambo.

Also, the Plateau State Police Command confirmed the killing of a police Lance Corporal attached to Operation Safe Haven while trying to rescue the victim from the gunmen.

However, the Commissioner of Police during an extraordinary meeting with traditional leaders at the Dialogue, Reconciliation and Peace (DREP) Centre today confirmed that the young girl who was ill at the time of the abduction had been rescued.
