UNICEF: 833 children soldiers release to parents

A total of 833 children associated with civilian joint task force have been released to their parents by United Nations Children Education Funds on Friday.

UNICEF said its commitment to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children in the conflict.

” This is a significant milestone in ending the recruitment and use of children, but many more children remain in the ranks of other armed group in either combat or support the role .

“We call on all parties to stop recruiting children and let children be children.” said Pernille Ironside, Deputy rep of UNICEF Nigeria.
