The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air War College on Friday inaugurated 19 senior officers as participants for Course 4/2018 in order to upgrade their knowledge on emerging trends in air power.
Commandant of the Air Force War College (AFWC), Air Vice Marshal, Charles Oghomwen, said at the ceremony held at the college lecture hall in NAF Tactical Command base, Makurdi that, the course was necessary to the country’s solution to emerging security challenges.
“This course is in furtherance of the nation’s solution to the emerging security challenges and our armed forces capacity to address them. Specifically, it will assist in shaping of our military operational and strategic capacity,” he said.
Oghomwen added that the course would provide a new benchmark for further prospects and growth of capable senior military commanders of service, as he stressed the need for the participants to imbibe all the lessons they could while transiting through the college for maximum benefits.
He emphasised that particular attention would be placed on Nigeria as a country towards providing solutions to fight against terrorism and insurgency as well as other security threats demanding better ways and methods of resolving them.
The commandant however warned the participants to ensure originality of their works as plagiarism would not be tolerated just as he urged them to use the opportunity to brainstorm on new ideas capable of extinguishing the enemies series of whims and caprices.
