Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona defender Jordi Alba after the Spanish international stalled on a new contract.
The 29-year-old has established himself as arguably the best left-back in world football since moving to the Nou Camp in 2012.
He has played more than 250 times for the Blaugrana, winning four La Liga titles, four Copa del Reys and the Champions League.
But, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo say United have been alerted to Alba’s contract situation as he is yet to pen fresh terms.
Alba’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, a contract he signed in 2015.
United are keen to sign a left-back and don’t have much cover in the position behind Luke Shaw, with Ashley Young deputising last term.
Barca have been linked with a clutch of left-backs, including a shock move for out-of-favour Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno.
Lyon’s Ferland Mendy, Valencia’s Jose Luis Gaya and Bayern Munich’s Juan Bernat are also understood to be of interest to the Catalan giants.
