The Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Chapter, on Wednesday said that the N2.5 billion recovered recently from 58 Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs) has not been squandered.
The statement which was issued in response to a press briefing by the Association of Senior Civil Servant of Nigeria (ASCSN) was jointly signed by the Chairman, Comrade Mohammed Gajo and Secretary, Innocent Abah.
It said the money recovered from the HMOs and another N103 billion recovered in March 2018 “are currently in the NHIS account with the Central Bank of Nigeria.”
It further said the NHIS Governing Councils is working nicely with the Executive Secretary and management and has not made any accusation of wrongdoing against them.
The union also said the claim that the ES had seven policemen as guards was ‘baseless.’
