Aspirants reject alleged imposition of President Buhari’s nephew

The alleged imposition of Fatuhu Muhammed, who is said to be the nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, for the Daura/Maiadua/Sandamu Federal House of Representatives Constituency is causing serious tension among the other aspirants in the race.

The trio namely, Salisu Ado Daura, Aminu Mohd Jamu and Kabir Sani Abdullahi in a joint press conference rejected the process so far put in place for the election and called for direct primaries.

They threatened to institute legal processes if their demands were not met.

According to them, “It is sad and unfortunate that the Government of Katsina state and the entire APC machinery have taken sides, with all plans perfected to subvert the electoral process in favour of an anointed candidate.

“Up till the time of this press conference, this evening we as aspirants in this election are yet to be informed of the venue, modalities and conduct of the election, that is we were left in total darkness”

While calling on their supporters to be law abiding and shun all indecent and illegal behaviours in the days ahead, they said “we assure them we will not rest on our oars until victory is given to them. It is a constitutional right to which no power on earth can deny anybody”

When contacted the publicity secretary of the party, Abubakar Danmusa denied the accusation saying that the party has no preferred candidate.

He said the party will conduct a free and fair primary that will be accepted by all
