Some leaders of APC in Ondo state says they won’t accept the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party which cleared Senator Ajayi Borofice, Senator Tayo Alasoadura and Senator Yemi Omogunwa in Ondo state to flag the party’s flag in the 2019 elections.
The leaders at a press conference held at the NUJ press centre in Alagbaka, Akure on Wednesday also called for the resignation of the party’s chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, saying “he is unfit, lack the capacity and wisdom to lead the party.”
Speaking on behalf of the party, Senator Alasodura, who represents Ondo Central, said they are giving the NWC 34 hours to reverse the decision or else they will take action.
Alasoadura said the party’s national executives and leaders should come in and ensure that those candidates screened out after paying about N8million to purchase forms are given equal opportunities.
“We will never accept any candidate except through lawful means,” they said.
Dr. Tunji Abayomi, who is one of the candidates said to have been anointed by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to represent Ondo North senatorial district where Borofice is from, said there is nothing like authomatic ticket for anybody in any democracy.
Abayomi, who also said that he has written a letter to the leadership of the party, warned that he would take legal action said Oshiomhole. “He lacks tolerance and unsuitable to lead,” he added.
