A former Comptroller General of Immigration, David Paradang and the member representing Riyom/ Barkin Ladi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Istifanus Gyang have picked the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) tickets for Plateau Central and North senatorial districts respectively.
At the central zone, Daily Trust gathered that Paradang polled 422 to defeated four other contenders to grab the party’s ticket.
The former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Caleb Mwansat polled 78 votes, Satti Gogwim scored 60 votes while Alexander Molwus scored 44 votes and Prof. Dakum Shown scored 34 votes.
Rep. Gyang polled 442 votes to defeat his only rival, the ex -factional President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chris Giwa who scored 291 votes at the Plateau North senatorial district.
Chairman of the electoral committee Chris Hassan, while announcing the results, declared seven votes as invalid.
Earlier, the former Chief of Staff to Senator Jonah David Jang, Francis Bot had stepped down for Gyang following the intervention of Senator Jang.
