For the fourth time, the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos has been postponed amidst confusion over the primary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP had sent out a notice for the primary around 8:52 p.m yesterday that the primary would hold at Yard 158, Oregun in Ikeja starting by 10:30a.m on Wednesday

The message was sent by the publicity secretary of the party to inform delegates and journalists about the primary.

However, at about 11:02p.m, another message was sent in, saying it has been postponed again.

“PLEASE BEAR WITH ME AS I AGAIN ANNOUNCE POSTPONMENT OF THE LAGOS PDP GUBER PRY TILL A DATE TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE PDP NAT. HQ. PLS ACCEPT MY REGRETS (SIC)”, the message announcing the postponement read.

Both PDP and APC have been engaged in a seeming game of wits with a view to outsmarting each other in the primaries.

The APC primary held on Tuesday had been annulled by the National Working Committee (NWC) though the party chairman in the state, Mr. Tunde Balogun went ahead to declare Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu the winner of the election defeating the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

According to Balogun, Sanwo-Olu polled 970,851 votes while Governor Akinwunmi Ambode scored 72,901 votes.

But there are indications that a fresh primary might be conducted by the NWC at a later date.
